The two chart-topping Kenyan artists have been flying high for months now with their solo projects, with Arrow Bwoy, in particular, enjoying a meteoric rise to the top courtesy of hits such as “Digi Digi”, “Dodo”, and “Shikisha”.

It, therefore, comes as no surprise that their musical paths have met as they continue to dominate the club scene with their commercial hits.

Their new track is aptly titled “Mary Jane”, produced by hit-maker extraordinaire Magix Enga who seems to have that Midas touch.

Timmy T dat who is also a radio presenter at a new Kenyan radio station said,“This is the first time I am working with Arrow Bwoy and it was a great experience. He is a talented artiste and I would like to work with him again. ‘Mary Jane’ is a song about drugs and the youth. How do we get to choose sobriety rather than indulge in drugs that will throw them off course.”

tujiangalie sauti solKenyan award winning musicians Sauti Sol and Nyashinski have come together once again to address the issues ailing our country in an unprecedented hard-hitting political song.

Sauti Sol and Nyashinski who collaborated on the hit song Short and Sweet, have brought the same touch they use when it comes to making us dance and sing along and the result is a product that will elicit debates and may split their fans down in the middle.

Bien-Aime Baraza, one of the band members, launches the song and sets the tone in the first second; “Barua toka Jaramogi na Kenyatta, wanauliza kama Kenya kuko sawa, nikawajibu Kenya tuko na disaster, watoto wetu wanazidi kuzikana…” (Letter from Jaramogi and Kenyatta asking if all is well in Kenya. I told them Kenya is a disaster, our kids are burying each other.)

From there, the four artistes go on to list the main issues affecting the country: t ribalism, crippling national debt, corruption, greed and lawlessness among other issues “We vote tribe ama real cash ask Boni,” raps Nyashinski. “I’m richer than my neighbour but we both in the slum.”

EricwaKenyan award winning musician Eric Wainaina recently launched his fourth studio album dubbed Dreams in Stereo.

The album includes collaborations with local artistes such as Kagwe Mungai, Kendi Nkonge, John Nzenze, Aaron Rimbui, Allan Wanjohi, Marvin Maveke and Benjamin Kaveseke Masinda.

The singer said that the album is personal to him in many ways having been able to be freer to himself.The album is influenced by his passion for musical theatre as well as personal influences that go past his Kenyan roots.

He released it after a 7 year hiatus, with his last album Love + Protest released in 2011.

He draws inspirations from Black Gospel, Blues, Soul, Funk and Reggae. The album is exclusively available on the Safaricom Songa App.

Eric Wainaina is best known for his hit songs Daima and Nchi ya Kitu Kidogo. He released his first album Sawa Sawa in 2011.

Amani was first recorded by a visiting tourist, Britt Chantel, who was equally blown away by her melodious voice.

nyash18As the countdown to his debut album kicks off, the comeback king Nyashinski presents his seventh (7th) solo single, titled #KEBS.

In Kenya, KEBS is an acronym for the Kenya Bureau of Standards. In this single, Nyashinski equates certain characters around our everyday lives to KEBS.

The lyric video was brought to life under the direction of Tonament and Sir-Nare, with visuals shot at Studio Zolani in Nairobi.

Nyanshinski goes ham on unnamed artistes and bloggers who have been circulating what he terms as fake news about him.

Among the ‘fake news’ are claims that he has a US based baby mama, that he demanded Sh1 million to appear on a TV interview and that he broke up with his Kenyan girlfriend.

Nyash, in the hit, describes himself as the gold standard of Kenyans music and compared himself to the legendary status of the late rapper E-Sir.

Noah Nganga,  a former underground rapper from H Town ( Huruma) was the last artist to be signed to Decimal Records last year and has just released his First Solo Single "Get Down (maji).

The rapper who's debut was a feature in a star studded track featuring PUnit's Bon Eye, Tanzania's Joh Makini and Grammy Award winning Kenyan musician Owuor Arunga - appetite- has been undergoing development and training at the hands of legendary producer and Decimal CEO Musyoka and award winning PUnit's rapper Bon Eye.

The former shisha seller was spotted by rapper turned CEO Bon Eye at his local club after approaching him and spitting bars afterwhich Bon Eye and Musyoka took him in and nurtured him under Decimal.

Get down was produced by the award winning producer and CEO of Decimal records Eric Musyoka who is single handedly responsible for notably Ukoo flani, Nonini, PUnit amongst other rappers. Get down is a feel good song which is heavily inspired by Marvin Gaye's sexual healing and features Konkodi's cleverly written lyrics in Sheng and English.

The Toronto hip-hop star, one of the top-selling artists in recent years, had kept fans in suspense for weeks as he prepared the release of his fifth full-fledged studio album, entitled “Scorpion.”

As he put out the 25-track album, one of the most striking features was the appearance of a special guest — Jackson, who is credited as the co-artist on the song “Don’t Matter To Me.”

A dreamy mid-tempo R&B track driven by a synthesized bass, “Don’t Matter To Me” is in line with the late output of Jackson whose distinct voice is heard on the chorus.

“All of a sudden you say you don’t want me no more / All of a sudden you say that I closed the door / It don’t matter to me,” Jackson sings.

ZikkiKenyan Dancehall Star Zikki teams up with the renowned International Jamaican reggae and dancehall Mega Tarrus Riley to release his first single titled Kamata from his upcoming album.

Zikki rose to fame a couple of years ago with his hit song Take it Slow featuring top Kenyan musician and now member of Parliament Charles Njagua aka Jaguar. However, this rising star is back after a long hiatus.

Shot on the beaches in Portmore, a coastal city in Southern Jamaica, the video fires off compulsive rhymes full of vibes with a jolly flow into bikini clad dancers.

The love song blends the East African and the Jamaican/Carribean vibe into a harmonious bond of Swahili with Jamaican patois (Patwa) powered by the melodious voices of Zikki and Tarrus Riley.

Tarrus also took time to learn a little Swahili, dropping a few lines like “Napenda vile wakata, wakatisa kata, tako matata!
