phywezani After what seemed like ages of waiting, performing and recording artist Phylis Ng'etich alias Phy came through with some new music early this month.

The incredibly talented songbird, who established herself as a force to reckon with after winning the Maisha Superstar singing competition, released her new single dubbed Siwezani.

Siwezani, a soulful love ballad about that painful kind of unrequited love, is as moving as Phys previous release Taboo. Siwezani is her third single since her debut hip-hop banger Ruka featuring King Kaka and Khaligraph Jones.

Like her previous releases, Siwezani is earning praise and placing Phy on the list of the most talented singers in the country.

The 24 year old recently represented Kenya at the 2017 world youth and students festival that went down in Sochi,Russia.



Nameless Oh Why After a trying period overcome by illness, Nameless took some time away from the limelight.

But it seems that though he may have been down, he was never out. His latest release Oh Why is just what every Kenyan needs.

As the repeat election dominate conversations across the nation, political tensions and tribal rhetoric seem to be the running theme. The track instead asks Kenyans to pull away from the negativity and focus on the nations well being.

The track which has a simple, memorable hook carries a thought-provoking message. The strong lyrics urge all to be mindful of their neighbor and avoid propagating the hate. A legend in the Kenyan music scene, Nameless release could not have been more aptly timed.

The track that was written and performed by Nameless is accompanied by some smooth vocals provided by Lydia Ndwiga.

The radio and TV deejay has been nominated for this year’s HAPA (Humanitarian African Prestigious Awards) Music awards, in the best African disc jockey category.

Former Kleptomaniax member Nyashinski previously collaborated with the Nigerian beauty on Coke Studio Africa season 4 in the live performance of Mungu Pekee. The track that saw great success is among the many tracks released by the talented rapper, who had previously been away from the spotlight for years, making his return in 2016.



king kanjaMulti-talented Kenyan artiste King Kanjathe 2017 AFRIMMA Awards nominee in the category of Crossing Boundaries With Music has released a new EP titled VIBES.

Three of the five tracks of the EP feature collaborations such as: Chris Searcys sweet R&B vocals gel with Kanjas sultry ride on Weekend; in All my Life, Kanja delivers an upbeat afro pop track produced by Silvastone.

While on Mesmerized featuring Kenyan songstress Ida Longomba is a fast paced club banger where Kanja also enlists Lovy Longomba (formerly of the Longombas).

The talented King Kanja is also the executive producer of VIBES EP and worked closely with the legendary hip hop and R&B producer Chucky Thompson, who has previously produced for the likes of Usher, NAS, P. Diddy, Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes, Faith Evans and The Notorious B.I.G, on two of the tracks.

King Kanja who is based in the United States,released a collaboration with popular Kenyan songstress Dela Maranga titled honey early this year.


chameleone0ct Ugandan musician and East African Legend Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone released the video for his song Superstar recently.

The song, whose audio had been released a few months ago, and which has been enjoying airplay, matched up to fans expectations.

Superstar is an Afro-pop song in which the Leone Island singer praises the girl he is prospecting for being his number one and superstar.

The tasteful video, shot by Brazilian film director, Jordan Hoechlin, features women of different shades and shapes a current trade on the various runways around the world,executing various dance moves in addition to Joses colorful laser like eyes and what appears to be a personalized lamborghini standing out during various scenes giving it a futuristic feel while maintaining a fun feel good vibe.

The video has since garnered 17000 in a week while the official audio has had 106000 views on YouTube since its release in February.



HalleluJAH Bongo Flava maestro Diamond Platnumz has stunned the music industry with a new record featuring Jamaicas reggae family Morgan Heritage dubbed Hallelujah.

The hit showcases Diamonds versatility as he seamlessly infuses with Morgans sweet reggae vibes complete a few english lyrics which are a good addition to his swahili ones.

The award winning artist has also put himself on the map by collaborating with the Jamaican Grammy award winners.

The jam is so good that it broke records following its release at the end of last week. In 15 hours, the video had been viewed more than 1 million times.A week later the video has garnered over 3 million views on YouTube.

On the other hand,Morgan heritage have been on tour and released another prolific album titled Avrakedabra early this year.



nyashinski 10Nyashinski is the second Kenyan artist after Sauti Sol to be nominated for MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA) in recent times.The flourishing singer has been nominated in the same category Best African Act which Sauti Sol won in 2014.

For starters, the 2017 MTV EMAs will be held at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London, UK, on 12th November 2017. The host of this ceremony will be British superstar Rita Ora.

Nyashinski is facing stiff competition from Nigerias Wizkid and Davido, South Africas Babes Wodumo and Nasty C and Angolas C4 Pedro, who have all been nominated for the same prize.

After a 10 year hiatus Nyashinski came back to the Kenyan music scene with a storm with hits like Now you know,Mungu pekee,Amina and Malaika.

In 2005,Kleptomaniax - a rap group that Nyashinski was in alongside Collo and Robba was nominated for the MTV EMA best African act category.


dollsPussycat Dolls including Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton will reportedly reunite next year.

The Poison hitmaker will reportedly take part in a comeback tour with former bandmates Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton next year, several years after they split in 2009.

A source told a popular newspaper: Talk of the girls getting back together has been rife for a few years now and they have finally found a time which works for them all.

They are still deciding whether it will involve a full tour or just a handful of performances but they are excited to be getting out there together again

When they parted ways in 2009 it was only intended to be a hiatus, so it feels like the right thing to do.

The 36-year-old singer shared the Spanish tune, a remix of J Balvin and Willy Williams hit Mi Gente her first single since giving birth to twins Rumi and Sir in June on her Instagram page, and revealed she will be pledging the tracks income to help victims of the natural disasters.

She wrote: I am donating my proceeds from this song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and the other affected Caribbean islands. To help go to"

Beyonce who also has five-year-old daughter Blue with husband Jay-Z has shared a list of several relief efforts around the world on her website, and admitted she was heartbroken by the tragic recent events.
