coke21It has been cold and raining all day but I have something to warm you up with. A recap of your favorite continental music show, Coke studio Africa season 4, episode 7 which aired last night on Citizen TV.

Kenya’s certified hit makers and MTV MAMA Awards 2016 nominees The Kansoul and award winning Mozambican songstress Lizha James made their debut on the Coke Studio Africa stage. The Kansoul took to the stage to cover one of Lizha’s tracks Buyani Mukina so well that they impressed her.Lizha on the other hand did her own fiery rendition of The Kansoul’s Drum. They also got together to talk over a meal before creating an original masterpiece produced by top Ugandan producer Bushingtone called U Shonguile.

RIHANNA TO GO VINYL WITH ALL HER 8 ALBUMS

rihananewRihanna is to release all eight of her studio albums in a vinyl box set.

The Umbrella hitmaker is to put out her records Music Of The Sun, A Girl Like Me, Good Girl Gone Bad, Rated R, Loud, Talk That Talk, Unapologetic, and 2016s Anti in a bumper 15-LP package.

According to The Vinyl Factory, the box set comes complete with oversized reproductions of the booklets which came with the original CDs in a 186-page hardback book.

Rihanna fans will also be treated to a signed slipmat in the collection which will be house in a slipcase with the Bajan beautys signature printed on.

It will be a first for five of the 28-year-old stars albums which have never been immortalised in vinyl beforehand.

jaguarcokeHello everyone! Its Monday and I get to give you the low down on how the latest episode of Coke Studio Africa went down yesterday incase you missed it.

Legendary Nigerian singer 2Face Idibia aka 2Baba took the stage alongside Ugandan songstress Remah Namakula to cover each others songs.2Baba brought the house down with his cover of Remah's Kurungi while Remah impressed with her rendition of the Nigerian's See me so.These two got back together on stage to create an original masterpiece called Can't wait with the help of the talented producer DSK.

On the spot was Kenya's Jaguar and Ghana's EL who engaged the audience in using Coke bottles as musical instruments while performing the hit song Kipepeo and Mi Naa Bo Po respectively.

This week's big break artist was Nigeria's Simi who got the once in a lifetime opportunity to collabo with Kenya's award winning afro pop group Sauti Sol and the multi talented Fally Ipupa from Congo on the Coke Studio stage on a remix of her track Love don't care.

StylusThe 3rd annual Stylus dj awards nominees were announced just recently at a gala at Moonshine beach bar in Mombasa and Capital Fm mixxmaster Dj Joe Mfalme bagged a total of 4 nominations in various major categories.

These 4 nominations include: Stylus Dj of the year,Freelance Dj of the year,Radio dj of the year and Tv Vj of the year.

2016 has been a great award season for this popular disc jockey as he has received a couple of nominations from the likes of SOMA Awards 2016,AFRIMMA Awards 2016,Jumia Kenya Glamour Awards 2016,Nigerian entertainment awards 2016 and even winning the Bingwa music East African Dj of the year award in early 2016.

This goes to show that he is breaking boundaries with his work as well as his brand and with thousands of people loving and appreciating his work thus it is only fair that his efforts of bringing people together through music is recognized.

Inspired by the original Song Hell On Earth By Mobb Deep, Khaligraph Jones teams up with Cashy to make Their own African Version of it with creative wordplay, bars and bombs.

coke5Africa's no.1 music show,Coke studio Africa season 4,episode 5 aired last Sunday in Kenya at 8pm,on Citizen TV and it included top African artists such as the legendary Jose Chameleon, gospel sensation Bahati,Mozambican songstress Neyma,Nigeria's Kiss Daniel and Flavour as well as Angola's Yuri Da Cunha.

Kenyan gospel artist Bahati and Nigeria's Kiss Daniel teamed up,got to know more about each other,covered each others tracks and created an original song.Bahati made an attempt to sing in pigdin English and do the shoki dance while covering the Nigerian's song Woju.Kiss Daniel on the other hand took on the hit song Barua and even tried his hand in singing Swahili.

taylor swift videoTaylor Swift is the highest-paid woman in music.The Shake It Off hitmaker topped the Forbes magazine list by raking in an impressive $170 million, more than double of her closest rival Adele, who earned $80.5 million.

Most of the 26-year-old singers earnings came from her 1989 world tour, which grossed a total of $250 million. $200 million came from her North American leg alone.

Alongside her various brand endorsements for the likes of Keds, Diet Coke and Apple, Taylor also shifted over three million album-worths of music.

Entertainment attorney Lori Landew told the publication: She has been building her fan base for years, and that fan base crosses multiple market segments. Its this ability to appeal to younger and older audiences, and those in between, that makes Taylor such a sure bet with both concert promoters and brands who want to affiliate with her and with the community she has cultivated.
