KHALIGRAPH JONES BACK WITH ANOTHER BANGER, SUPERMAN

real OGKhaligraph Jones is back with his third video release for 2019.

The man known as the ‘O.G’ is keeping the standards high with a video to rival those of international standards. The track dubbed ‘Superman’ speaks of Jones’ musical prowess and his successes to date. Doing what he does best, Khaligraph aka Baba Yao shows haters who’s boss with his characteristic quick flow on the trap track. Taking a risk, the ‘Toa Tint’ lyricist sings for some part of the release, the first time being his feature on the ‘Kiboko’ remix with Masauti.

A real gangsta, Khaligraph’s star power is tripled by the presence of a very sexy video vixen and white Lamborgini. The audio was recorded and produced at Blu Ink studios By Motif the Don while the video was directed by Dallas based video director Jeff Adair. Promoting the track, Khali took to Instagram to announce the new release.

It seems the track will be a great win for him, with fans online praising the Kayole-breed lyrist. With more than 10,000 views on YouTube in just the first hour of its release, Jones set to maintain his winning streak for 2019.

BONGO STAR DIAMOND PLATNUMZ RELEASES THE ONE

Diamond platnumzTop Bongo star Diamond Platnumz has released a new single after a long hiatus of not releasing his own music.

His new love song titled ‘The One’ is now joining top trending songs in East Africa with over 1.3 million views on YouTube. “Let it be a dedication to the one you love,” he posted on YouTube.

Simba released his album dubbed ‘A Boy From Tandale’ on the 14th of March 2018 featuring tracks such as ‘Waka Waka’ ft Rick Ross, ‘African Beauty’ ft Omarion and ‘Marry You’ ft Neyo.

Diamond has not been releasing single projects until this Easter holiday when the singer released a solo project, a love song dubbed “The One’.

In 2019, he has featured in hit songs such as ‘Tetema’ with WCB artist Rayvanny and ‘Kainama’ ft Harmonize and Burna Boy.

THE JONAS BROTHERS ANNOUNCE A NEW ALBUM AFTER A 7 YEAR HIATUS

Jonas BrothersThe Jonas Brothers have announced their comeback album, ‘Happiness Begins’.

The sibling trio of Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas have confirmed their new LP will be released on June 7 as Kevin admitted this is the album he is most “proud” of.

Sharing the album artwork on Twitter, they simply captioned it: “#HappinessBegins June 7th … So proud of this new record and we can’t wait for you guys to have these songs!! “

And in a post on his personal Twitter account, Kevin pointed out that the new album “Happiness Begins”  will be their first collaborative project, after 7 years of not working together.

Nick had previously confessed that “transparency was the key factor’ in the Jonas Brothers reunion.

NIGERIAN SINGER SIMI RELEASES HER DEBUT ALBUM OMO CHARLIE CHAMPAGNE VOL.1

Simi 1Nigerian singer-songwriter superstar Simi over Easter premiered her sophomore album titled ‘Omo Charlie Champagne vol 1’.

This comes just after her beautiful wedding to Nigerian Afro-soul super start performer Adekunle Gold. The recent release of her album she says is named after her dad has been well received by fans.

The new album is a ball of excitement as it features heavyweights in the music industry including her husband Adekunle Gold amongst other greats as; Patoranking, Maleek Berry and Falz.

Known to be a back to back hitmaker, some of SIMI’s most popular works are like ‘I Dun Care’, ‘Lovin’ and ‘Ayo’. There are so many more that cannot begin to be listed in entirety.

The long awaited album is here and it’s 13 tracks worth of greatness.

SOMAGA BY NAIBOI FT KRISTOFF

kris naiKenyan hitmaker Naiboi has released the video to his collaboration ‘Somaga’ with Kristoff.

The ‘2 in 1’ hitmaker teased the release on his social media platforms yesterday (15.04.19) saying that his fans should wait for a new music video at 10 am on YouTube and true to his word Naiboi dropped the visuals to the ‘Somaga’ hit alongside Kristoff.

The well-shot comical visuals featuring comedians Terrence Creative (Kamami), Jaymo Ule Msee, Mamito, and reggae TV show host Miss Katiwa depict Naiboi and Kristoff as ‘shamba men’ who work for Terrence. Their boss has a party full of fine looking girls, they hatch a plan to drug their boss to attend the party but the girls are into their phones and don’t pay attention to their advances. Their time at the party comes to an end after the boss comes to his senses and kick them out of his mansion.

The release of the new music video comes about a week after Naiboi released another collabo with Kristoff titled ‘Bungee jump’.

Naiboi is putting in the work and he has two highly anticipated collabos set to be released in 2019. He has teased an upcoming collaboration with award-winning afro-pop band Sauti sol and as reported by The Sauce, Naiboi has an upcoming song with Grammy award-winning reggae group Morgan heritage.

The audio to the jam was released only a month ago and has over 40,000 views on YouTube.

NAMELESS AND KHALIGRAPH JONES DROP MASSIVE COLLABO ‘MEGARIDER’

namelessTop Kenyan musicians Nameless and Khaligraph Jones have released the remix to Nameless’ 20-year-old classic hit song titled ‘Megarider’ with a new fresh feel.

The remix to this song is an absolute club banger. Father of two Nameless keeps some of his original lyrics but gives it a new vibe that is current and relatable to his younger audience. The fusion of a killer beat, trumpets, beautiful vocals by a background vocalist only known as Linda as well as Khaligraph’s singing and rapping takes the song to another level.

Both artists were elated to announce this new release that has already garnered over 60,000 views on YouTube in less than 24 hours. The remix was produced by the award-winning Cedo, directed by Vj One and was mastered by Ogopa DJs. Fans are overjoyed by the unexpected collaboration between these two celebrated artists working together in the making of the ‘Megarider’ remix.

 Mr. International is hard on the grind in 2019 and he could not hide his joy when he posted that he was excited to have worked on this legendary project with one of Kenya’s musical pioneers and big brother, Nameless.

A POSTHUMOUS AVICII SINGLE DUBBED ‘SOS’ TO BE RELEASED THIS WEEK

AviciiThe late Avicii’s first posthumous track will be released on Wednesday (10.04.19).

The Swedish DJ whose real name was Tim Bergling died by suspected suicide in Muscat, Oman in April last year, at the age of 28 and his family is now set to release a 16-track album of previously unheard material in June.

The album ‘Tim’ will be preceded by a track ‘SOS’, which is set to drop on Wednesday and features vocals by soul singer Aloe Blacc.

A message from his representatives stated: “He left behind a collection of nearly finished songs, along with notes, email conversations and text messages about the music. The songwriters that Tim was collaborating with on this album have continued the process to get as close to his vision as possible. “Since Tim’s passing, the family decided not to keep the music locked away instead they wanted to share it with his fans all around the world.”

Coldplay’s Chris Martin who previously worked with Bergling will sing on a song named ‘Heaven’.

TWO NEW MUST LISTEN COLLABOS FEATURING TIMMY T DAT AND NAIBOI

R&B Kenyan sensation Brown Mauzo is back with another hit following the release of ‘Mawazo’ a month ago.

The singer’s new project is titled ‘Hakuna Kulala’ in which he has tapped highflying 2 in 1 singer Naiboi to make the song a definite hit.

In ‘Hakuna Kulala’ (Swahili for no sleeping), the two music acts sing the praises of a lover who keeps them awake all night.  ‘Hakuna Kulala’ is getting rave reviews from music lovers on YouTube who have been appreciating the effort Kenyan music acts are putting to raise the standards in the industry.

USHER IS TEASING THE SEQUEL TO CONFESSIONS

Usher2019It’s been 15 years since American RnB singer Usher Raymond released his album ‘Confessions’, but a sequel may be in the works.

Taking to Instagram recently, the superstar shared a photo of himself in the studio sitting next to a whiteboard that reads ‘Confessions 2’ and a tracklisting. There appear to be song titles, but they are blurred out.

According to Rap-Up, the ‘Lemme See’  hitmaker may be answering fans’ prayers for the second installment of ‘Confessions’. He previously shared a photo of himself in the studio with longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri, who produced the original ‘Confessions’.

Earlier this week, the Atlanta producer and Usher went on Instagram Live to preview a brand new song called “Believe” that may appear on the project. “I wanted to believe / I wanted us to make it, baby,” Usher sings in the clip.

Released in March 2004, ‘Confessions’ sold 1.1 million copies in its first week and won a Grammy for ‘Best Contemporary R&B Album’. It went on to become the second-best selling album of the 2000s, spawning hits like “Yeah!” and “Burn.”

Usher hasn’t released a full project since 2016’s ‘Hard II Love’. In honor of his 40th birthday last year, he dropped ‘A’,  his collaborative project with Zaytoven

YOUNG MBUGUA OF MATHWITI VIRAL VIDEO RELEASES HIS FIRST SINGLE

Young Mbugua MathwitiInternet sensation James Mbugua, popularly known as ‘Mbugua Mathwiti’ or ‘Young Mbugua’ has released a song titled ‘Mathwiti’.

Five years ago, Mbugua was recorded narrating his frustrations of missing out on a birthday party in his mother tongue of Gikuyu. Mbugua explained how he missed the chance to eat sweets and cakes at a birthday party that he had attended because he was not clean. His dramatic facial expressions in the video were an instant hit across social media.

The viral video caught the attention of the members of the public and this led to many well-wishers including Media Max owned radio station Kameme FM to bring him gifts, clothes, and food.

The song describes an emotional story from rags to riches. Mbugua in the song recounts his struggles five years ago and goes ahead to explain how God has changed his life and how media and TV personalities now flock his home to bring him food and clothes. Mbugua later adds that he has money and can now afford the cakes and sweets.

Released three days ago, the song has already hit over 130,000 views on YouTube and counting. It’s also one of the top trending songs in Kenya.
