MUSIC REVIEW: BALAA BY JAY A

JayAKenyan rapping sensation Juma Ali populary known as Jay A is back with a hit jam titled Balaa that was released about 6 days ago.

The feel good song is much like his 2013 club banger Dumbala that got everyone jamming to it in clubs,parties and matatus as well.The song has Jay A rapping and singing to catchy lyrics that will soon have everyone singing word for word.

The song comes with a well choreographed video complete with dancers,lots of colour and a simple yet fantastic background to top it off.

With over 12 songs released so far, he doesn’t stick to one style, from time to time, he switches it while still remaining true to his original flow.

His latest release Balaa is a few days old and already on heavy rotation on major radio & TV stations not forgetting YouTube where it has garnered over 60,000 views so far.

RIHANNA’S DANCER GOES MISSING

ririRihanna has shared a heartfelt message about her backup dancer Shirlene Quigley, who went missing on Sunday morning (23.10.16)

Shirlene Quigley was last seen getting on a bus at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City in the early hours of Sunday morning (23.10.16), and the 28-year-old singer has now taken to Instagram to help spread the word and raise awareness of her friend’s disappearance.

Posting a video of Shirlene in which she talks about how we can all try harder to love one another, the ‘Work’ hitmaker wrote: “This beautiful soul, and former dancer of mine is MISSING!!! My heart aches thinking of how heavy this is on all who love her! If anyone has seen or has any information on @shirlenequigley’s whereabouts ….. PLEASE CONTACT the North Bergen Police Department 201 392 2100 !!!! (sic)”

RECAP: COKE STUDIO AFRICA SEASON 4,EPISODE 2

Cokes4The fourth season of Coke Studio Africa premiered not too long ago, the second episode of this one of a kind music show aired in Kenya yesterday on Citizen TV at 8pm.

Now incase you missed it, here are the recaps of the highlights from Sunday's performances.

First up it was Nigeria's Flavour N'abania who is famed for so many hit songs who teamed up with Angola's Yuri Da Cunha. For cover 1 Flavour did his own rendition of Yuri's Tu Es O Amor.

Then popular Kenyan music group The Kansoul got together with Mozambique's Lizha James on the spot to perform two of their best songs Utamu wa life and Mina Ni Randza wena while engaging the audience to use coca Cola bottles as music instruments.

For the 2nd cover of the night,Yuri a 36 year old musician from the Portuguese speaking country of Angola sang and danced to Flavour 's Ikwokrikwo.

DRAKE THANKS JAMIE FOXX FOR TEACHING HIM HOW TO ROCK THE STAGE

Now according to popular Canadian rapper Drake, R&B star Jamie Foxx who played the lead role in the 2004 film Ray has been one of his best teachers, whether Foxx was aware of it or not.

Last week, Drizzy took to Instagram to pay his respects to Foxx, writing, I learned how to perform from watching The Foxx Boxthis man made people laugh, made people feel connected and engaged, made the room feel small and made people laugh while he bodied a full blown singing performance.

Thank you Foxx, he continued. I just watched this again and wanted to pay homage.Drake and the multi-talented artist teamed up for the 2010 song Fall For Your Type.

The Toronto superstar has been on his Summer Sixteen Tour in support of his massively successful album, Views, for the better part of this year.

Calvo mistariUrban Rapper Calvo Mistari has teamed up with Opips and Jardel to release new single "PAPER & GLUE" off their upcoming debut Album, set for release next year. "PAPER & GLUE" is a feel good Loko Music for guys who are hooked on their significant others.

The song has been produced by Kid Kay for RedRepublik. It has been arranged, mixed and mastered by Eric Musyoka at Decimal Media. It has a Ragga feel to it with a bouncy groove to kick into.
