SERROKenyan songstress Serro is a mellow voiced powerhouse and is excited to release the stunning music video for her latest single, “Okello”.

Using earthy but stunning visuals, the music video stays true to the catchy and soothing melody reminiscent of Mbilia Bel and the Afro-touch synonymous with Serro.

Shot in the outskirts of Nairobi, the first scene places the viewer in a quaint rural backdrop. The narrative captures the restlessness between a couple and the consequences of pursuing them.

“For me, this song is about having the will to be free in life. And relationships are what life is all about. Johnson is amazing in how he captured the picture in my head when writing and recording it,” says the “Rongai” songstress.

Serro’s nostalgia and her sense of longing to return home are palpable with every lyric. Named after a river, Serro mirrors this fact with her voice meandering beautifully through heavenly harmonies and soft, soaring coos.
