Godfather of Genge Nonini whose real name is Hurbert Nakitare is stamping the beginning of 2019 with a new one; “Bye Bye” featuring Tanzania's Bongo sensation Chege Chigunda.
Nonini has been missing in action and has only made appearances in moving collabos like 'Mpaka Chini' featuring Prezzo last year and most recently got featured in Levis Brown's 'Kukuche.'
Though notably not on screen, he still has his hands full in the industry mentoring and helping other artists especially upcoming ones in their journey. Director at Bafa Music Group, a music label founded by Kenyan artists to manage artists, Nonini is still impacting the music scene in even greater ways than his hit days of “Mamanzi wa Nairobi.”
Having established a signature 'Genge' sound, you'll definitely know it when you hear it. 'Bye bye' combines Bongo flavour with the Genge Hip hop style to give you a fresh sound that's definitely music to the ear. Chege Chigunda gives it a touch of his best known for melodious style.
The song was released on the 23rd of December 2018 and video is heavily African themed with wild life and exquisite African attire. This is definitely a good way to wave away 2018.
Bye bye was produced by Dillie, the video was shot and directed by Adam Juma and distributed by Hubern Communications.
