Kenya’s award-winning afro-pop band Sauti Sol recently launched their own record label Sol Generation and together they have created a classic banger ‘Extravaganza’.
Sol Generation music label signed fast-rising singer-songwriter Bensoul who has already released two of Kenya’s current biggest songs ‘Lucy’ and ‘Favourite Song’.
The dust from that has barely settled and Sol Generation has already signed three other massive music explosives. Nviiri the Storyteller, the writer of Sauti Sol’s mega-hit ‘Melanin’. Crystal Asige, #BlindGirlManenos founder with soulful jams as her latest ‘Safe’. Kakazini, a three-member all boy band famous for their acoustic love song ‘Nairobi’.
Now put all that sauce in a pot with our beloved hitmakers Sauti Sol and you clearly understand why the latest release from Sauti Sol featuring Sol Generation is simply an ‘Extravaganza.’
This jam takes us back to the roots walking you down the Rhumba times with the perfect touch of contemporary afro-soul. Easy, laid back with the lead, bass and percussion in the greatness of perfection to serve Rhumba nothing but justice.
Just like was signature with ol’ skool songs, the lyrics are an address of social trends with a clear warning being sent out.
Visuals serving nothing short of the 70s- 80s vibe with bright coloured Kaunda Suits. Fur and big hair for the ladies in melanin. The club scene is extra and colourful just like it used to be.
Is this new collabo a hit or a miss?
