Good news for reggae and dancehall fans, Shaggy has a new album dropping on the 10th of May 2019.
Jamaican singer and DJ Orville Richard Burrell CD, better known by his stage name Shaggy just won the best Reggae album alongside British singer Sting for their collaborative LP, “44/876” at the 61st Grammy Awards held on (10.02.19) in Los Angeles, California.
During the Grammys red carpet interviews, Mr. Boombastic confirmed that his first solo album in eight years titled “Wah Gwaan?!” will be released on May 10th, 2019. The album will feature Jamaican singers Shensea, Nyanda formerly of Brick & Lac, reggaeton star Nicky Jam and Jason Derulo collaboration “Tic Toc”.
According to Rolling Stone, it will see the 50-year-old hitmaker who released the records “Shaggy & Friends” and “Summer in Kingston” which contained his popular single “Sugarcane” in 2011 return to his “Jamaican roots, global reach, contagious joy and introspective side” with the 12 tracked LP.
